Visiting Delegation of University of Strathclyde Arrived at HEU

On March 30th, the dean of Marine Department of the British University of Strathclyde Attila • Incesc and Professor Zhou Peilin came to visit our school.

Vice president Xia Guihua met with the delegation on March 30th to discuss joint establishment of international organizations and related matters about ship and ocean engineering innovation and cooperation, and to discuss the articles of association, website construction and members of the organization to be invited as well as work plan for the next step. Professor Wu Guoxiong of London College, related personnel from college of shipbuilding and engineering and international exchange and cooperation office participated in the discussion.

On March 31th, the delegation carried out in-depth exchanges with related personnel from the international exchange and cooperation office, college of shipbuilding and engineering, college of power and energy engineering and college of international cooperative education about students joint training project such as 2+2, 3+1+1, etc, international exchange programs of HEU outstanding undergraduate students exchanging to the UK, students from University of Strathclyde shipbuilding department coming to HEU for summer internships as well as the preparatory work of 2014 Maritime International Conference.

In July this year, the second batch of students from University of Strathclyde will come to our school to participate in the summer school. The 2014 International maritime technology conference jointly held by our university and the University of Strathclyde will also be held in British Glasgow in July, and the preparatory work is smooth. The conference has received 115 abstracts from Britain, Germany, Italy and other 12 countries, teachers and students from our university submitted 32 abstracts. During the school year from 2014 to 2015, college of shipbuilding and engineering of our university will send 5 exchange students to the University of Strathclyde through the national outstanding undergraduate international exchange programs.
