HEU Developes the Application Model System of theTrend Power Station with Floating Vertical Shaft Water Turbine in Maximum Capacitance in the World

The hundred kilowatt tide power station named "HainengⅠ" ran successfully in Guishan waterways in Zhejiang Daishan, which was headed by the Institute of Marine Renewable Energy of our College of Shipbuilding Engineering. The station adapted our self-independent technology of the distributed unit trend power device and the trend power station with floating vertical shaft water turbine which can store the total capacity of 300 kw, which makes it maintain the highest generating capacity as China’s first the Trend Power Station with Floating Vertical Shaft Water Turbine. The power station provides a steady stream of electricity to the nearby residents in Guanshan Island by the submarine cable.


HEU broke through the key technologies in integration design, high performance variable angle of vertical shaft turbine, high strength lightweight composite blade, large load of shallow water power station mooring system, low-speed and direct-drive permanent magnet generator, power transformation and dynamic laying of submarine cables design. Besides, HEU formed a tide generating set design theory as well as the software systemand developed the key equipment for power station such as the a floating carrier, anchor system, vertical shaft turbine, low speed generator, power transformation devices. The station makes it possible tosupply the power to the island by the submarine cables and marine power systems and makes the power system run automatically at sea, which gathers experience from the design of the trend power system,  a completeset of the core components , the unit’s safe operation and optimal control. Identified by the project group, the design and technology of the self-independent trend station model has reached the international advanced level.


The construction of the power station "Haineng I" was supported by two projects:  "Advanced Energy Technologies and Renewable Energy Technologies" subject of National 863 programand "Ocean Energy Development and Utilization of Key Technology Research and Demonstration" project of the national science and technology support plan in the key technology, development and demonstration application of the system . Both projects are headed by Professor Zhang Liang and Professor Han Duanfeng of the College of Shipbuilding Engineering and passed the acceptance check in the recently by State Science and Technology Department and the State Oceanic Administration. Besides, the subject was supported by Joint Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting institute co., LTD., National Ocean Technology Center, National Engineering Research Center of Electric Power Generation Equipment, Gao Ting shipyard andTechnology Bureau of Daishan. This is the  fourth trend power station that HEU took part in constructing , after the "hamming I"--- the 10 kw horizontal axis trend power generation station, the construction of the "universal" 70 kw buoyant trend experiments of the power station in 2002, "universal II" 40 kw sea tide power plants in 2005.


The construction of floating tide power station is a hot topic in the field of new energy in the world today. In 2002, as the technical leading unit, HEU took part in the study andconstruction of China’s first 70 kw floatingexperiment power station "universal I". The construction of the application model system of the trend power station is based on the project. After more than 10 years’scientific researchand engineering experiments, the trend power station marks that the tide power generation technology in China stepssolidly toward industrialization. The construction of "Haineng I"combined the technology of various subjects such as the ship and ocean engineering, machinery, generators, electric control, offshore installation of multiple disciplines which brought potential business opportunities to industrial chain of related enterprise and will  promote economic development and construction in the island. Besides, the construction provided verification platform and foundation conditions for the establishment of specification, unit operation and key operation procedure system. This is of great significance to form ourown trend power station with independent intellectual property rights and promote the exploitation of marine new energy.
