Harbin Engineering University gains 4 national teaching prizes
When the 30th teachers’ day is approaching in the golden autumn, Harbin Engineering University creates great success on teaching with five awards around the country. The practice hold by Professor Liu Zhigang who encourages break through traditional ideas, innovate the current mechanism to realize teaching goes forth from the back stage got the first prize. The second prizes for the four projects: take the quality as core, humanization training, double independent incentive, normalized evaluation research and practice of teaching reform hosted by Professor Yang Desen; talent system cultivation created by university and enterprise for dynamic marine defense characteristic research and practice hosted by Professor Zhang Wenping; automation talents cultivation in the field of engineering exploration and practice by Professor Zhao Lin; the project Professor Liu Zhigang has involved of create new engineering training competition mode to promote college students' innovative practice ability. And Professor Liu Zhigang would attend the 30th teachers' day for the national education system of advanced collectives and advanced individuals commendation meeting held in National People's Congress, Beijing on 9th.
General Secretary of Chinese Communist Party, Chinese President, Chairman of Central Military Commission-Xi Jinping closely met the advanced collectives and advanced individuals in the meeting.
Chinese vice Premier Liu Yandong delivered a speech in the commendation meeting. She said, it is thirty years since the establishment of teachers’ day, the social atmosphere of respecting teachers and valuing education has been increasingly boosted, and a vast number of teachers contribute a lot for talent cultivation, education development and modern society construction. She hoped that teachers earnestly study and implement the idea and spirit of General Secretary Xi to attach great importance to education, to strengthen teachers’ team construction, to shoulder the glorious mission of teaching, to be a teacher as good model with dedication, care and innovation. It is encouraged that all the departments across the country should attach great importance to teachers' team construction, to attract and encourage talents for long-term teaching and even for life-long teaching, and to inspire the enthusiasm of the teachers’ initiative creativity.
The teaching result that break through traditional ideas, innovate the current mechanism to realize teaching goes forth from the back stage has achieved great breakthrough in solving the question of advanced mathematics such as the low status and investment of experiment teaching, and less focus on experiment teachers. This project effectively improves the experiment teaching status and successfully realizes school experiment teaching go forth from the back stage. The team aims at talent cultivation, devotes to innovative experiment teaching theory research and application practice, and puts forward the idea of "three world" in the experimental teaching with theory teaching, student work in colleges and personnel training. And innovation experiment teaching will be applied in teaching management mechanism to build special experiment teaching team, sculpture the connotation of the experimental teaching center construction etc to apply for teaching reform practice.
National achievement award is established in 1989, it is elected once every four years and focus on reward in teaching construction, teaching reform, and the outstanding achievements in the training of personnel, which is the highest award in the education teaching field around the country. This year, the ministry of education awarded 1320 items of teaching achievement prizes of 2014. These four research awards by Harbin Engineering University winning the highest level and the largest number in the school calendar.
