Delegation from Russian Far Eastern Federal University visit HEU
On November 18th 2014, Professor Bekker Alexander, Director of the Engineering School of the Russian Far Eastern Federal University and a delegation visited HEU and held discussions with Vice President XIA Guihua.
Vice President XIA welcomed them. He hoped this visit would deepen mutual understanding and promote cooperation between the Far Eastern Federal University and HEU in education, research and other fields to stimulate mutual development. He also hopes that the two universities will establish regular communication mechanisms, extend cooperation into new areas and share resources. Professor Alexander said this visit deepened his understanding of the strength of shipbuilding and ocean engineering at our school and he was confident in our future cooperation in relevant strategic fields including transport ship in ice area and offshore platform technology.
The two schools held discussions on the Chinese-Russian governmental scientific research cooperative project, teacher academic exchanges, joint training of postgraduates and the joint launching of the International Organization of Innovation and Cooperation of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (ICNAME) . They reached a preliminary cooperation agreement to jointly implement cooperative projects.
The delegation also visited the College of Shipbuilding Engineering and the College of International Cooperative Education. They visited the horizontal circulation channel, structural engineering lab, ship towing tank and the deep water trial tank. They also spoke with young teachers in the College of Shipbuilding Engineering to exchange ideas about scientific research, and held discussions with teachers in the College of International Cooperative Education on educational cooperation, including student exchange projects.
