To further international cooperation between China and Singapore in the field of naval architecture and marine engineering, HEU Vice President XIA Guihua, Director of the Offshore and Ship Technology Collaborative Innovation Center and a delegation from were invited to visit National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Maritime Institute on March 2nd to March 4th, 2015. Staff from HEU, Dalian University of Technology and the South China University of Technology, which are the core members of Offshore and Ship Technology Collaborative Innovation Center were part of the delegation. During the visit decisions were made to create a joint research fund and cooperate in the five areas including Ocean Engineering riser, numerical pool, AUV technology, ocean engineering advanced materials technology and renewable ocean energy.

During the visit, researchers from the Offshore and Ship Technology Collaborative Innovation Center, the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, the Institute of High Performance Computing and the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering discussed the relevant technology of the five areas and plans for future cooperation. HEU Professor SUN Liping, Professor DUAN Wenyang, Dr. JIANG Dapeng, Professor SHAO Yawei and Professor ZHANG Liang made speeches about their research progress and achievements. Professor LI Ping introduced some high-tech research achievements of HEU SHIPTECH and presented a preliminary vision for potential cooperation. "As an international university with the largest scale, the most staff and the most comprehensive disciplines in the field of naval architecture and marine engineering, HEU actively responds to the innovation-driven strategy established by the Chinese government and is devoted to innovation in ship and marine engineering.
