William C. Webster states that the ocean contains abundant resources, but there are also great difficulties in the development and utilization. Scientists and engineers from all over the world have achieved many results through innovative research, but they also face more new challenges, which requires strengthening international cooperation. ICNAME is precisely an international organization that promotes the development of new marine technologies. He hopes to accelerate the development of new technologies in the fields of shipbuilding and ocean engineering through ICNAME, cultivate more talents in this field, and better respond to future challenges.

YANG Desen says that the advancement of science and technology in the world is thriving, with the emergence of new disciplines and the revival of traditional ones. Naval architecture and marine engineering is a discipline that is forever young and continuously evolving. Being faced with multiple challenges, ICNAME has maintained a stable development situation over the past few years. He hopes that experts and scholars attending can generate new scientific research inspirations and gain more innovative achievements through enhanced communication and cooperation.

Carlos Guedes Soares, Academician of Portuguese Academy of Engineering and Professor from University of Lisbon, Šime Malenica, Deputy Director of Research Department and Researcher from Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, CAI Chengtao, Dean of the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, Otsuki Tomoaki, Professor from Keio University, and Pietro Zunino, Professor from University of Genoa, deliver keynote speeches separately.

On August 23rd, Signing Ceremony of Joint Industry Projects and Joint Education Projects are held.

On August 24th, the 2nd Council of ICNAME is established, and the Council Chair and Vice Council Chair organizations are elected. At the meeting, Council Members listen to the work report of the 1st Council, discuss and pass the revision of the Constitution of ICNAME and the future plan.

The conference has set up five sub-sessions focusing on Ship and Offshore Mechanics, Design and Production of Ships and Offshore Structures, Green Shipping and Marine Energy, Intelligent Ships and Unmanned System Technology and Application, and Marine Environment Acoustics and Underwater Information. Over the three-day conference, experts and scholars engage in cooperative negotiations for joint industry projects and conduct in-depth exchanges.

International Association of Innovation & Cooperation on Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (abbreviated as ICNAME) was established in 2015, led by Harbin Engineering University, and jointly initiated by University of Strathclyde, Bureau Veritas, Dalian University of Technology, Ecole Centrale Nantes, and other global universities and enterprises. Since its establishment, ICNAME has attracted more than 60 member organizations from home and abroad, cultivated and facilitated numerous multilateral and bilateral cooperations. Facing the technical challenges brought by the exploration of deep-sea resources, ICNAME focuses on the modern trends of digitalization, networking, intelligence, automation, and greening engineering equipment, and promotes common growth of its members. This conference is co-hosted by Harbin Engineering University and Wuhan University of Technology.
