AAnnual Academic Conference of National Natural Science Foundation of Hydro Science and Ocean Engineering Disciplines’ Key Projects

The 2013 Annual Academic Conference of National Natural Science Foundation of Hydro Science and Ocean Engineering Disciplines’ Key Projects was Held in Zhenjiang from March 1-2. This conference was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Materials of the National Natural Science Foundation and undertaken by one of its major member Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. Prof. Li Wanhong, director of hydro science and ocean engineering, presided at the conference, Ge Shilun, vice president of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

The main content of the conference is annual academic exchanges of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Hydro Science and Ocean Engineering key projects of the 2013, the mid-term inspection and concluding acceptance of some key projects. Also, experts and professors at home and abroad of deep sea platform, water resources and water environment was invited and they made wonderful academic reports. During the conference, Professor Yao Xiongliang of Harbin Engineering University made a concluding report of the key project directed by him, which is sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation. Professor Yan Xinping and other four from the center member units of Wuhan University of Technology made interim report on water machine ship and geotechnical marine key projects. The evaluation experts listened carefully to the interim and the concluding report from the person in charge of the key projects, made a heated discussion on related questions, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions. Director Li Wanhong pointed out that this conference is designed to check the implementation of key projects in accordance with the “management approach for key project of national natural science fund”, and to ensure the realization of the project target. At the same time, this conference is academic exchanges of marine engineering, which will promote academic exchanges and play a positive role in promoting discipline development.
