ICNAME 2024 Green Ships and Marine Energy Sub-Forum Was Successfully Held on 23 Aug. 2024

On 23-25 Aug. 2024, ICNAME 2024 - Green Ships and Marine Energy Sub-Forum was held in the Multi-function Hall and Yangtze River Hall of the QIHANG Activity Center of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), attracting more than 120 experts, business representatives, teachers and students from Italy, Britain, Australia, Poland, Malta, Thailand, Indonesia, China and other countries and regions. The sub-forum, led by the College of Power and Energy Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, aims to provide an opportunity and platform for experts, scholars and students in the field of Green ships and Marine energy research from all over the world to learn and exchange with each other. 

On 23 Aug., the sub-forum was co-chaired by Prof. DING Yu from Harbin Engineering University and Prof. ZHOU Peilin from University of Strathclyde. Prof. YU Zhiwen, Vice President of HEU, Prof. LIU Zhigang, Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of Naval Architecture Engineering and Professor of HEU, Prof. DOU Zheng, Director of International Division of HEU, Prof. LI Yanjun, Dean of College of Power and Energy Engineering and Mr. LI Hongbo, Party Secretary of College of Power and Energy Engineering, attended the conference. Prof. YU Zhiwen delivered welcoming remarks. On behalf of HEU, Prof. YU Zhiwen Yu extended a warm welcome to the guests and representatives, and hoped to cooperate with scholars from all over the world to jointly promote scientific breakthroughs and technological innovation in green ships and marine energy.

Subsequently, Prof. LI Yanjun Li from College of Power and Energy Engineering in Harbin Engineering University, and Prof. TANG Hui from Department of Mechanical Engineering in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the two sides. Prof. LI Yanjun from College of Power and Energy Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, and Prof. Pietro Zunnio from Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management and Transportation Engineering in University of Genoa, signed the joint construction agreement of Marine Power International Joint Laboratory on behalf of the two sides, and unveiled the laboratory. University of Genoa, Harbin Engineering University, Wuhan University of Technology, WEICHAI Power Co., Ltd., SHENGU Group Co., Ltd., and other 9 units jointly initiated the industrial joint project "Research on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction, Vibration and Noise Reduction Technologies of Yacht and Its Equipment"; Genoa University, Harbin Engineering University, WEICHAI Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. and HAICHENG SANYU Pump Co., Ltd. signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Yacht Power System Noise Control, Energy Saving and Emission Reduction" and the "Cooperation agreement on energy saving, cost reduction and efficiency improvement of electric pump sets" respectively.

The sub forum lasted for 3 days and invited 20 experts to give invited speech, including Prof. ZHOU Peilin Zhou from University of Strathclyde in UK, Prof. Jacek Hunicz from Lublin University of Technology in Poland, Prof. Mario Farrugia from University of Malta, Prof. WANG Liuping from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Australia, Prof. Dario Barsi from University of Genoa in Italy, Prof. LV Lin and TANG Hui from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Prof. HE Yurong from Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. LIU Haifeng from Tianjin University, Prof. ZHANG Zunhua from Wuhan University of Technology, Prof. ZHANG Hongpeng from Dalian Maritime University, Prof. JIANG Yichen from Dalian University of Technology, Prof. CHEN Weixing from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Prof. LUANG Yigang and ZHOU Song from Harbin Engineering University. The forum also received 46 academic papers from University of Strathclyde, Kasetsart University, University of Indonesia, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, South China University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, China Ship Scientific Research Center and other academic papers.
