Third International Workshop on Offshore Engineering Held in HEU

On July 26 and 27, the third international deepwater offshore engineering workshop (DOSS2013) organized by our Deep Sea Engineering Technology Research Center and assisted by Deep Sea Engineering with Ship Technology Innovation Center was held in basic lab building, Vice President Yang Ye attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

The representatives of 30 organization including nine universities of the United States, England, France and China, six research institutes and fourteen Ship and Offshore Engineering Companies attended this meeting. Three guests delivered speeches in the conference, including Shi You, Vice chief- engineer of China Ocean Petroleum Engineering Stocking Co.,LTD, Liu Yanjia, Vice-president of China International Container Shipping Group Company Raffles, Xie Bin, Deputy director of Chinese Ocean Petroleum Research Institute of deepwater Engineering Key Laboratory and Professor Zhao Gengxian from Marine Design and Research Institute of China.

Yang Ye welcomed the arrival of the guests. He said that he hoped to further strengthen cooperation between the related experts and scholars from all over the world and promote better and faster development of the international Marine engineering.

The workshop lasted for two days. On the first day, there was a short-term training about the key technologies of deep sea floating structure and on the second day, the participating experts and scholars discussed about the latest research results of deep-sea engineering research.
