The Marine Renewable Energy Branch of China Association of Oceanic Engineering was Established

The Marine Renewable Engineering Branch of China Association of Oceanic Engineering (CAOE)was established and the new committee congress was held on December 26 in Tian Jin. Experts from related colleges and universities, designing institutes and research institutions and representatives from the State Oceanic Administration attended the conference. The president of CAOE Sun Zhihui and vice president Zhou Maoping attended the founding conference. The vice president of Harbin Engineering University(HEU) Xia Guihua attended the conference.

The establishment of The Marine Renewable Engineering Branch was sponsored by National Ocean Technology Center. It aims at building a high-level stage for the relative departments to discuss ocean energy policy, area planning, legal system and coordinate development of ocean energy together to promote the level of ocean energy technologyresearchanddevelopment and equipment manufacturing, providingconsultations for government making policies, programs and standards, providing technical supports for ocean energy development project and promoting establishment and improvement of country’s ocean energy industry and market.

The conference passed the Working Rules of the Marine Renewable Energy Branch of China Association of Oceanic Engineering. Xia Guihua was elected vice president while Prof. Zhang Liang the associate director and deputysecretarygeneral and Prof. Gao Liangtian the associate director.
